President and Chief Executive Officer, New York
Mr. Tymins is responsible for overseeing the operations of AIG Global Real Estate's investment and development platforms, and for developing and implementing the business strategy to maximize the value of AIG Global Real Estate's assets. He also serves as Chair of AIG Global Real Estate's Investment Committee. Mr. Tymins served in several leadership roles, previously as President of AIG Affordable Housing (AIGAH) and as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AIGAH.
From 1990 through 2005, Mr. Tymins served in various key senior positions with the SunAmerica companies, including Managing Director, Real Estate Development, and Senior Vice President, Real Estate Acquisitions and Dispositions. During this period, he directed a real estate equity investment platform that invested in excess of $800 million in office, retail, hotel, multi-family, condominium, and mixed-use projects throughout the U.S. He also directed the company's strategy to maximize its investment in a commercial and residential land portfolio located in metro Phoenix, with an expected value at full build out of $1.2 billion. After departing the company in 2005, he continued to work with AIG in a consulting role through his firm 360 Real Estate Advisors. He began his career in real estate with the Trammell Crow Company in 1985.
Mr. Tymins received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Arizona State University. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the National Advisory Board of the ULI Terwilliger Center for Affordable Housing and the Carolyn and Preston Butcher Forum on Multifamily Housing. Mr. Tymins also serves on the Arizona Regional Board for Teach for America and the Board of Arizona Housing, Inc., a non-profit focused on providing affordable, supportive housing for the homeless in Phoenix, Arizona, where he resides.
