Philanthropy

AIG has made an inaugural $5 million contribution to the recently reinstated AIG FOUNDATION as part of our commitment to our global communities. In 2020, the AIG FOUNDATION will primarily direct these funds toward COVID-19 relief efforts.

AIG is proud to support employees’ generosity through the Matching Grants Program. AIG matches employee donations to qualifying nonprofit organizations and schools 2:1, up to $10,000, for each employee per calendar year.

AIG is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we work, live and serve our customers by investing in programs and partnerships that leverage the skills, experience, knowledge and enthusiasm of our employees.

AIG supports artistic, cultural and educational institutions where we live and operate, while exposing employees and their families to their offerings through the AIG Museum Membership Program.

Volunteerism

AIG provides opportunities for our employees to use their time and talent to support and improve communities, particularly in areas of need that correspond with AIG’s business expertise. Some of our 2019 highlights include:

Strengthening Communities Through Volunteerism

In 2019, AIG employees helped make a collective impact in their communities by volunteering nearly 80,000 hours worldwide. In 2020, AIG’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program provides employees with three days off to volunteer in community service projects supporting causes they care about.

AIG celebrates Global Volunteer Month in April. This past April, AIG employees were provided resources and training to volunteer virtually and safely from home. 

During the 2019 Global Volunteer Month, thousands of employees in 36 countries demonstrated their willingness to help others by participating in 213 team volunteer projects. The 2019 AIG Global Volunteer Month video highlights the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of AIG employees across the globe.
